The potential loss of on-street parking and its economic impact has been the top concern expressed by downtown Saint Paul businesses regarding the proposed downtown Loop. While this concern may seem legitimate, recent studies don’t support its validity. Several cities that have removed on-street parking for a bike lane have shown that it’s had little or no negative impact on the area businesses.
